Hi, I’m Hannah-Joy.
I am a photographer in the greater Philadelphia area. I took an interest in photography at the age of 8, when my parents introduced me to their Nikon camera to take photos at Longwood Gardens. Ever since then I have been experimenting and creating and evolving as a photographer.
A few years ago I would have said I am a wedding and portrait photographer, but I’m not sure that quite fits anymore. I would describe my style as documentary. Anything that documents moments of transition, growth, connection, partnership, grief, healing. I want to photograph all of it, and I want the photographs themselves to be part of the healing, part of the transition from one season of life to the next. Being seen can come in many different forms, we all desire to be seen by others. I wonder what it might feel like to be seen by the camera, but also be truly seen and held by the photographer.
If any of that sounds interesting to you maybe we should work together! I’d love to hear your story.
